Pink Moon Illumine
Step Into the Moonlight
Pink Moon Illumine is my specialized marketing consultancy dedicated to transforming and elevating brands through strategic storytelling. By striking the right balance between data-driven strategy and creativity, I help brands stand out in a competitive market.

My approach goes beyond conventional marketing. I believe that every brand has a unique story waiting to be told. When you work with me, we uncover these stories by looking at your business through a different lens, identifying opportunities and white spaces that traditional marketing often overlooks. This unique perspective ensures that your brand connects deeply with your audience, fostering lasting engagement and loyalty.

It’s more than brand awareness. Together we situate your brand as a beacon that inspires, informs, drives change, and sheds light on important topics or issues.

Whether you need to craft captivating and persuasive narratives, design immersive brand experiences, or develop an integrated content plan, I help you align your vision with your business goals.
Services
Brand Strategy
Align your marketing efforts with brand development. This can include discovery and research, messaging, clarifying or redefining core values and mission, content strategy framework, content creation, measurement frameworks, on-going analysis, website rebrands or new sites. Don't have the resources for a full-blown strategy? I can give you guidance on what you need to do and workshop some ideas.
Experiential Marketing
Elevate your brand with immersive experiential marketing campaigns. Whether it’s a concert, co-branded event, or a unique influencer collaboration, I design marketing strategies that bring your audience directly to you, helping you reinforce your brand’s story and driving awareness in exciting and sometimes unexpected ways. This can also include full execution or support. Please note that this is not an event planning service. I can, however, bring event planners I have collaborated with in the past to the project.
Need ongoing support?

This can include messaging, multi-channel content planning, creative brainstorming, editorial calendars, audience insights and mapping, website content, and performance measurement to optimize your content’s impact on reaching your business goals. If you're a small business with limited funds, I can guide you on getting the process started and provide a framework that will set you up for success.

Are We a Good Fit?
It's Not About the Industry
Â
It's About the Type of Work
Â
Working at Edelman, the world's largest marketing agency, allowed me to work on accounts across nearly every industry. My role as a content strategist sat at the center of the integrated marketing spoke wheel.

When the CMO at what would be my first tech startup job asked me during my interview, "Aren't you nervous about writing content for an industry that's very technical and unfamiliar to you?" My answer was, "No."

Part of my job as a content team lead and manager of people on various accounts was to quickly get up to speed. My accounts spanned from energy to consumer product brands, public affairs, education, pharmaceuticals, and some rock 'n' roll was thrown in there for good measure.

I backed that "No" by creating some of my favorite pieces of content to this day. I found my happy place in making a complex topic not only accessible but also exciting.

I work with businesses and leaders who are brave enough to be authentic and focused on building their brand instead of emulating their competitors.
Branding is more than picking the right color and taglines. It's about having a clear sense of who you are and why that matters. It's about a larger purpose and making an impact — not just hitting revenue goals.

If that resonates, I'd love to work with you.

Kindra is one of the most strategic creatives I’ve worked with in my very long career. She has helped my clients communicate their strategies and differentiators with clarity and a compelling brand of storytelling. She makes her clients’ mission her mission and cares deeply about the work she does which shows in everything she produces.
Lance Johnson, President of LJA Marketing
Kindra has an incredible knack for creating tech-focused content and distilling complex ideas into clear, impactful copy. She is a master at content strategy and email marketing, especially for ABM and lead gen efforts. Kindra is professional and reliable, but most importantly, she’s also a pleasure to work with.
Otessa Ghadar, Founder & Director of 2020 New Media Productions
Experiential marketing is a demanding, high pressure realm, and Kindra sets the bar. Her brain is a marvel and watching her bring ideas to life, and pivot strategy seamlessly under pressure (and a global pandemic) was phenomenal. Her curation of fireside chats, cosplay competitions, panel discussions, and beyond brought depth and engagement to our events.
About Kindra
Owner & Founder of Pink Moon Illumine
I was born on the night of the full moon in April — the Pink Moon. I joke that entering the world during twilight on a night of the full moon enabled me to be cohesively twain. It must explain why I’m a (super) Type A creative.
With six years of experience at Edelman, I played a key role in building the content strategy offering for the DC office, which was later adopted across other Edelman offices. For the past four years, I’ve worked in-house at cybersecurity startups, bringing brands to life in a sector that demands clarity and trust.
I lived in Scotland for two years, where I earned my LLM in International Criminal Justice and Human Rights. Since before I could talk, I've wanted to do whatever I could to help. That remains true and manifests in everything I do.
While my degrees are in political science and law, art and marketing are in my blood. I was raised by a family of artists. Growing up, I was surrounded by easels and paint. My grandmother was one of the first female Art Directors in the Washington, DC area, where she trained and led a team of artists at RH Donnelley Corporation (pour one out for the publishers of yesteryear). Remember the Yellow Pages? Yeah, that was her.
I believe you will end up where you need to be if you trust the journey and yourself. Discovering your path can be hard, and walking your path is even harder. My twisty, windy career journey brought me back to my roots, my passion, and allowed me to find my own form of art.
By following my path I realized that, at the end of the day, it all comes down to marketing. I first needed to see myself — and what I bring to this world — in a different light.
Marketing lets you connect directly with those you are trying to reach. And while many people don't understand legal jargon, we all love a good story.
When I'm not weaving story with strategy, you can find me volunteering at my local Buddhist temple. By day I lend my time and hands to support their interfaith charitable efforts and maintain their 65-acre Peace Park. And by night you can find me with my roller derby team, playing a sport that fuels my drive and resilience in both life and work.
Pink Moon Illumine's Story
Each month’s full moon has a unique name and carries symbolism rooted in agricultural cycles and seasonal changes. It’s not surprising that the Pink Moon represents renewal and transformation. It occurs during the transition from winter to spring.
Why pink?
If you’re in certain parts of the United States or Canada you’ll see pink flowers (named creeping phlox) starting to bloom in the month of April.
Pink Moon Illumine gets its name to honor the powerful force this moon represents in my life, and the belief that it brings something new. In astronomy, a full moon is the phase when the moon is 100% illuminated. The moon is bright enough for us to see in the dark and it guides us as we travel. But it only lasts for one night.
Just as photographers wait for the magic hour to get the perfect lighting to capture stunning pictures, effective marketers know how to capture the right moments in time. But those moments are wasted without a strong brand strategy.
And that’s where Pink Moon Illumine comes in. Let’s shine a light on what makes your brand special, illuminate your path to success, and build a strategy that makes you agile and ready for every perfect moment in time.
